Dr Alex Eskander pioneers a bespoke service for women seeking quick, sympathetic confidential, gynaecological advice and treatment.
(Reporter7.com 2006-10-06) The area of gynaecological medicine is being revolutionised by a clinic in Harley Street, London. The Gynae Centre is a clinic offering gynaecological advice with a reputation based on 6 years of experience and quality care - but its founder, Dr Alex Eskander has seen a need in his patients to offer more.
'Women are so busy now. They are juggling careers, child care, family and social lives. Gynaecological problems, when they appear are the last thing that they need to deal with. They realise that there will be a long wait for advice then treatment - some may decide that it's not worth the trouble. We aim to revolutionise the service of gynaecological treatments that women have become used to-
Open until 8pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 5pm on Saturday, the centre is available when needed most. But it offers more than most clinics of its type as a lot of the consultation and testing process can be undertaken and completed within 24 hours of the initial appointment being made meaning there is no waiting for tests, further appointments, results or diagnosis or for treatment. Dr Eskander continues:
'Our care covers a wide area of problems and concerns from fertility, abnormal smears and sexually transmitted diseases (STD's) to the menopause. As soon as the appointment is made with us, we can get to the heart of the problem and resolve it. We can remove the worry and anxiety that some symptoms can create by seeing the patient, diagnosing and treating quickly and without fuss. Our policy is to provide a quality quick response service at a price that women can afford. Harley Street evokes a reputation of quality and respect and we are committed to that reputation but not at extortionate prices. Our consultations start from £100-.
Mr Eskander's patients agree. Camilla Mabott has been a patient of the Gynae Centre for 6 years. 'The area of women's health is a sensitive one and they want to feel that they are getting the right treatment from the most trusted, confidential and available source. The Gynae Centre has always provided that for me and Alex Eskander goes that extra mile for his patients ensuring that their care, comfort and treatment is a priority at all times.
She continues: 'After a history of painful abdominal surgery where the procedure was painful and the recovery long, Mr Eskander made the decision to refer me to another surgeon who could perform key hole surgery, a less complicated and intrusive procedure. Not only did he do this without any prompting or suggestion from me, he attend the consultancy appointments and was there for me before and after the surgery took place. He really does go that extra mile for his patients-
